I was recently stranded in an airport waiting for my flight. When I learned of the delay, I immediately went to the most colorful shop and took my time reading labels before I excitedly chose Lays Barbeque Potato Chips. Why? Because they're good for me? Ha! I was alone, bored and knew the shops would be closed when I was even more bored. In a position of "no control" I gave myself permission to indulge. Sure, I should have been prepared and brought my own healthy choices and next time I will, but I gave myself permission to "be bad" and appreciated every moment of that badness. If someone was watching, they may have thought I was greeting those chips with a spiritual mission because I met each one with love and reverence. What's the point? There are times we all give in and do that thing- something we know we shouldn't do. And when this happens, Do it with Gusto. Love yourself and give thanks that you can take a detour and get back on your path. Be good, Mostly. And when you find that you've made the decision to "be bad", do it well.
